3.5 i think

absolutely loved the writing in this, exactly after my own heart: lyrical and metaphorical and evoking and just... beautiful, at the end of the day. i'll echo many other reviews and say i was way more interested in the first half of the book, and couldn't really care much for the second part (even if it takes a bit out of the uniqueness of this novel and its concept).
