Every book in this series was consistently great, full of surprises and scares, gentleness and richness of humanity and world-building. A truly great series. By the time you get to the last book, you KNOW sh*t is gonna go down. There are things you are trying not to think might/must happen, but you REALLY don't want them to. But you want to witness them if/when they do. The ending does not let you down. I felt every book in this series was of equal great quality, wonderful storytelling in each individual book, but tied together in a cohesive series that is exactly as long as it should have been.
