Unfettered Siren by S. Rodman
4.5
A great book with double hurt/comfort, tons of feels, fondness, and some miscommunication.
I couldn't wait for Blue's book after reading the preceding books in the series. He was teased the most in "Unfettered Omega," and we had glimpses of him in other books. I didn't have specific expectations, but I was definitely looking forward to it. And it was lovely. With lots of double hurt/comfort, learning to trust, and navigating a relationship between a sex worker and someone who avoids touch and intimacy involving skin-on-skin contact, it delivered. There's a bit of steam, but I never wanted Blue's story to be all about the spice. It's more about a genuine connection and love.
I was also glad and surprised to see some drama involving the security of the (former) harem boys, and I hope this element is explored more profoundly in the next books.
The found family aspect keeps getting better and better, and I have no complaints there.
I'm not giving it a full rating only because of the amount of miscommunication. I know this author well and love their books. I'm familiar with the hurt/comfort and some degree of miscommunication that's often present. But here? Oh boy. I just wanted both characters to talk openly. It honestly got a little tiring by the end, but I still enjoyed the book, and it didn't deter me from finishing it.
