Time to Shine by Rachel Reid

5.0

I was trying to take my time reading over the holidays, but I really could not make myself put this down. This was so heartfelt and sweet and funny and I had the best time. It had so many aspects that are always bound to get me. First, the sports romance, but also the opposites attract dynamic and dealing with anxiety and grief and guilt surrounding it, so I kinda had to love this. I really appreciated Landon’s journey and how Casey was so understanding, patient, and accepting with him. Also appreciated how Landon supported Casey through his fears and never treated him like he wasn’t smart. Didn’t love that Casey had just learned to live with everyone treating him like that but when it was addressed toward the end, I did love how others could see his emotional intelligence and how he always knew how to make people feel more comfortable and at ease. I was happy to see the way Landon transformed over the course of the book and allowed himself to feel more confident and loved. I adored the way Landon and Casey just understood, respected, and showed up for each other in ways nobody else did. Yeah, I just really loved this. I feel like I highlighted half the book. This was my first by Rachel Reid and I think I’ll definitely have to check out more.
