A philosophical dystopian-future novel, set in a society where technology, conditioning, and a rigid social hierarchy control every aspect of human life, where people are conditioned from birth to fit into specific social classes, with their roles, behaviors, and even emotions predetermined. The novel follows Bernard Marx, an outsider in this conformist society, and John, a "savage" raised outside the State's control. John, being a stranger in this controlled society, challenges the system and its values, leading to a clash between the dystopian world and the remnants of traditional values. Huxley's stark exposé into the individual vs societal control for the benefit of society, demonstrates his ease at bringing complex philosophical concepts into an engaging storyline.
