Scythe by Neal Shusterman

5.0

I read this book a little over a month ago and haven't been able to stop thinking about it. Its hard to explain what made this book work so well for me, but while I was certainly taken with the characters (both the leads and the side characters) and Shusterman's absolutely impressive world-building, it was it the complex philosophical questions about death, knowledge, and power and the limits of technology and progress that that the novel raised that so totally bowled me over. I'm eager anticipating the next work in this trilogy and am fascinated to see where Shusterman will take this series.
