Incidents Around the House was simply sick - high intensity, heart racing, edge of your seat suspense and intrigue. The pacing was perfect for me, long enough to have ample time with the characters and be invested, but not too drawn out where it gets boring. I appreciate how the plot follows through with the premise
I’ve read a lot of books where the main character isn’t believed, or is unsure of themself and so we spend much of the book just questioning, versus in this story where we have multiple confirmed sightings and they attempt to combat the entity with location changes, rituals, ghost hunting, etc.
. I also really enjoyed the themes and how they are played out, it reminded me a bit of The Haunting of Hill House (which I absolutely adore). The narrator for the audiobook really added a lot to the story, this was the perfect companion for a long car ride!
