I liked this one even more than the first book. The mystery and forensic aspects were great, as usual, but what really stood out was the character development. In Killer Instinct, I formed a connection with the characters, which I felt I wasn’t able to do when reading the first book. I’m still not the biggest fan of Lia and Michael but Cassie, Dean, Sloane, and even Agent Sterling have wormed their way into my heart. I especially loved how much Cassie and Dean’s relationship grew and I’m super excited to continue reading the rest of the series. 4 stars.
