This is a FANTASTIC novel and a lovely representative for my "read one book from each county in Ireland" reading challenge. . It's a slow burn, spiraling through multiple layers of story that fits into multiple categories: who-done-it; memoir; horror; police procedural; historical fiction. The tension of progressive revelation was delicious. The writing is deft; the reader is somewhat confused but is carefully held and reminded of what each development means. This would reward a re-read, which I'll do in the coming months.
