How the Light Gets in by Louise Penny

5.0

Excellent as mysteries go. Some interesting character development. Definitely a page turner with enough false cues to keep me guessing. And reading. Quite a page turner. Occasionally it was quite confusing where I was in the chronology of the story as scenes changed.

It is funny to read a series backwards--and I had happened to read the next one first. Lessens the anxiety as "the plot thickens." But I think I'll go back to the beginning for the rest.

Having read #1-#8, I returned to this one. I had forgotten many details already, so it was an interesting read again. Plus details had more meaning after having read the previous volumes. After the less intriguing #8, my interest in this one was much higher. Back in Three Pines, the villagers again appeared, some growing, some not. The richer plot and characterization was a relief and joy.
