If you can get past the fact that the FMC acts and sounds like the 19 yro that she is and the story concept overall is problematic, this is a very engaging story.
I’m hooked and I will be devouring the rest of the series like I did this first book.
UPDATE: I did devour books 2 and 3 however the rest of the series I did not. I DNFed while reading book five. My overall series thoughts are below.
I tried to finish the series, I really did. Honestly if this series ever got a re edit I might actually attempt at finishing it, however as it stands life is too short to finish a series I’m not loving. I’m just going to say this, I think a lot of problems could have been avoided if they weren’t trying to have sex on EVERY SINGLE surface.
Overall I think the series is fast paced and does have some compelling character moments. I think some of the character relationships are interesting (most of them are problematic on varying levels) but the most interesting part is the small snippets of world building we get sprinkled between the orgies.
Don’t get me wrong I came for the reverse harem but I stayed for the world building. There are genuinely so many interesting facets of this world that get briefly mentioned and then are never explained in favour of another sex scene. The action and mystery element of this series are also pretty good and entertaining to read about but once again get overshadowed by another sex scene.
The story has also gotten very repetitive, and I get it. She’s got like five dudes to build relationships with but come onnnnn. While being fast paced and easily digestible, the books are still far too long. I think another edit would do wonders for this series.
I just really wished that the world building elements had more time to shine because I genuinely think there is some really interesting stuff in there, I just could not stand to read about another orgy when they are literally trying to fight their super villain.
