Immortal Longings by Chloe Gong
4.5
I absolutely loved this book! The setting of San-Er immediately pulled me in; it was so unique and immersive and full of life. It might actually be my favourite part of the book.
I also really loved the concept of ‘jumping’ and found it pretty unique. I think it opens up a bunch of ideas to explore around what the ‘self’ really means and the importance (or lack thereof) of our bodies.
I liked Anton and Calla’s relationship but I wished we had seen it develop a little more. I don’t think the romance is the sole purpose of these books so it didn’t bother me too much but I hope we get a bit more time with them focused on their relationship.
