One doesn't need to love serial killers to love this book.
Love In The Time Of Serial Killers by Alicia Thompson was a total impulse buy. I went to Chapters with two books on my to-buy list, and this cover and book description grabbed me.
I don't regret it one bit!
The main character of Phoebe's amusingly wary demeanor reminded me of some of my IRL friends (and me, lol), and thus I connected with the story straight away.
Phoebe, a doctoral candidate writing a dissertation on true crime books, returns to her childhood home after the sudden death of her father. The query suspicious and good-looking neighbour, Sam, may or may not be a serial killer. Or is he a normal, pleasant guy?
There's some great chemistry, a bit of steam, and emotion. Smart and witty and I loved it. It was an awesome read of this whim purchase - recommended!
