I still can't believe this is only Anja's second book. I am in AWE of her talent. It's really hard to describe how wonderful this story turned out, how well written it is. It's the vivid attention to detail, the incredible portrayal of what each of the characters is feeling, not just Ethan and Matty, but Avery and Austin. You can FEEL them, the FOUR of them. It's as if you could touch them, so real they seem.

It is really a story with painful moments, of lost childhoods, of having to grow up suddenly because you have to take care of adult problems, or because you have to live with daily violence, protecting yourself from those who should be the ones who protect you.

But it is also the story of a beautiful friendship so strong that it goes beyond time and distance, between two soulmates who feel lost until they get back together. It is the story of two loves capable of conquering and defeating the demons and the fears that Ethan, Matty, Avery and Austin fight daily inside. A love that heals, that strengthens.

It is also the story of a journey of self-discovery, of personal growth, of learning from mistakes, of acceptance, of learning to live.

And what amazes me the most is how this author was able to tell this IMMENSITY, in a FINITE number of words.

I was given an advanced copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
