This book is a MUST-READ. It’s a YA Psychological Thriller (I think it leans horror) that follows two young black girls try to figure out the mysteries of a derelict mansion, in parallel POVs 10 years apart. Each of the girls has a difficult relationship with her mother and is trying to figure out the next step of becoming an adult. I think the plot twists are really well placed and the pacing is good. One of them was a little bit predictable, but they expanded on it in a good way.

I absolutely loved both Daisy and Brittney, each struggling with their own identities. This book is thrilling, a great mystery, has well done horror elements and social commentary on how the identity of young black women. The main characters and the supporting ones are written with depth and the world is well-rounded and fleshed out. It has so much say and keeps you hooked the entire time as you experience each MCs own timeline and how everything ties together.
