The Line by Teri Hall
2.0
Had to put this one down after a few pages. The initial impression of the writing style was not good. Will try again later.
Second try: I liked the story - a future of America where the borders are locked down and the government is heavy-handed. Rachel's mother has been hiding from the government for years, and when Rachel gets too close to The Line she begins to uncover the truth about her parents. The main thrust of this novel is the meeting between Rachel and people from the other side of The Line. The ending is set up nicely for a sequel. My big complaint is still the writing style; it was very clunky and I had a hard time getting into the flow of the book.
