The Tidal Zone by Sarah Moss

5.0

It´s always as wonderful to read a book that´s been praised by so many people whose opinions you trust and be able to completely agree with them, to come across a novel that meets even the highest expectations. The Tidal Zone is one of those books. I had only a very vague idea of the story going into it, which is good as I don´t like knowing too much in advance. It´s especially suited for The Tidal Zone as I find it difficult to explain. The plot isn´t filled with action, there´s actually next to no action in the whole book, but I didn´t even notice that when I was reading - I was so immersed in the characters´ lives and Moss´ beautiful prose. I had to read some paragraphs out loud to get the most out of them, to truly realize how well written they are. I need to read from Sarah Moss as soon as I can! The Tidal Zone is in some ways quite simple, but so very powerful; it made me cry and ponder, laugh and understand human nature a little bit better. Some of the details almost felt like they were created for me, just the type of things I enjoy. It is such a startling reading experience and extremely actual as well, it only came out last year.
