This book had no business being this good. I don’t know what Brynne put in this book but I ATE IT UP. Never thought I would be this invested in the love story of two serial unalivers but let me tell you that Sloane and Rowan had me in a chokehold.
Rowan’s dirty mouth had me gasping, sizzling, and aggressively kicking my feet in the air. Not only is he swoon worthy but he cooks and takes care of her. Rowan falls first and let me tell you, he falls HARD. The patient this man has with Sloane and how reassuring he is with her is everything.
Given the themes discussed in the book, I loved the complexity of the characters. The mix between the dark themes, the humour and the slow burn of their love story is so perfectly done in a way that elevates the story. Overall, a must-read spicy dark romcom.
Safe to say I have never read anything like this book before. I don’t know how Lachlan and Lark could possibly top the masterpiece that was Rowan and Sloane but I can’t wait to find out in the second book coming in June!
