The Accidental Apprentice
By Amanda Foody
This is such a great book. Middle Grade. My son and read this together (He is 12) and we both really enjoyed it. We are delighted to know this book is part of a series and we can’t wait to read the next book!
This story follows Barcley who is from Dullshire - where almost nothing fun seems to be allowed. By chance Barcley tumbles into a world full of adventure and magic and he’s not too sure about it.
I’d say if you or your child like books like Harry Potter this book would be a good choice for you. Although this book doesn’t get as dark as Harry Potter does.
