The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman
4.0
This book was recommended to me by my mother in law. Whilst on honeymoon I stumbled upon a cute independent bookshop and decided that I needed to buy something from there so this is what I went for. This is not my usual genre, and therefore I was quite anxious about going into it. However, this was a fun read. Did I love it? No. But i did like it and I will be picking up the sequel. The thing that I did love about this book is the fact that it is based around a group of elderly friends in a care home. It was such a fun idea and did give me lots of laughs. The concept for me felt really unique. The characters were super loveable and as a reader you cannot help but build a connection with them. I definitely wasn't sold on the mystery element, I think there was a bit too much going on and it was very easy to loose track of what was what. The Thursday Murder Club is a fun read, and I will be picking up the next one just so I can dive straight back in with the characters.
