I loved Van Helsing the movie and this book reminded me so much of it and in such a great way. Describing his true form always put me in mind of the wives of Dracula from that movie!
I love how even through the hurt Barnaby was still willing to be vulnerable with her. I also loved how Maisie easily recognized it and didn’t take that for granted and also gave him the reassurance all people need. It was nice reading about a man needing reassurance of affection and love.
It was truly great to read about a love story evolve with no secrets. They were really vulnerable and honest with each other from jump, and that was great to experience. Their need for each other flew off the page 😍
