Still holds up as an engaging text despite it's age. Serves as a warning that is still relevant to a modern audience. Offers a greater depth to all of the main characters then what is provided by the new films (which are still strong adaptations) with the exception of Chani, who I believe is actually more nuanced in Dune Part 2 (2024).
Minor: Incest, Pedophilia, Slavery, Suicide, and Murder
The Baron has some brief aspects that may be considered problematic to a modern audience (regarding his sexual proclivities). It's possible some could be offended by the possible misuse of islamic aesthetics however I am not in a position to comment on whether or not this is a problem as I am white.
