Honestly I just had such a blast reading this lol.
The banter and humour in this book is just so subtlety (and sometimes not subtlety) hilarious. I found my self giggling n gushing when the characters were being romantic, and I felt for them and their pain.
Now, critically, there’s not too much going on. The characters, despite best efforts, remain a lil one dimensional but to be honest, I didn’t care n I had a great time regardless.
There was a slight lack of stakes for the whole book, and towards the end there was a bit of unnecessary conflict in attempt to drum up some stakes (that were solved stupidly quickly). That said, if you’re someone that requires stakes I’d probably not recommend this one.
But again, I didn’t mind much bc I was having too much fun.
I adored how the fmc is just an unabashed nerd and the mmc loves that about her. Also the premise of writing love letters to someone you think is fake and then they turn up real was just too finger lickin good honestly, it was sure to be a good time.
I ate this one up.
TLDR; a fun, quick, spicy historical romance for you to turn your brain off n just enjoy a hunky Scottish laird and his lass fake it til they make it.
