I thought we would see much more of Kaz and his point of view, so I’m actually disappointed. The plot is nice, but I don’t think the characters are as magical as everyone says.

With so much hype and many positive reviews, the book felt very underwhelming to me. The fact that the characters were teens didn’t work for me; mid twenties to early thirties would have been more fitting. The main storyline follows these characters trying to pull off an impossible robbery and rescue someone from an impenetrable facility. It sounds good, but the story fails at multiple points. Firstly, the pace is very slow, and it keeps switching back and forth between the characters' pasts and the main timeline. The heist itself is also poorly executed.
