(Another book where I found out after I finished it that KJ Charles was the editor!) This is a really great example of a historical story overlaid with magic. It took me a while to read this, but not in a “this isn’t holding my attention” way but a “I don’t want this to be over!” way. This book deserves to be savored. I was close to figuring out the mystery when it was revealed (which is the best kind of mystery) and it’s the sort of story that just gets better as it goes on. Highly, highly recommended.
