Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan

5.0

This has been on my radar for wayyyy too long and I’m glad I finally got round to it

The characters in this are the stars of the show. The two main characters have a very natural relationship, they bounce off each other and they make for a great duo with some chaos sprinkled in. The other characters are just as good with each one having a distinct personality and a role to play, they have a very true to life feel to them bringing some very heartfelt moments and interactions

This had a unique structure, it’s 2 books in one and it mostly steers away from the usual good vs evil but focuses on a mix of different scenarios that the characters find themselves in and it was very entertaining. It is still jam packed with everything you’d find in a fantastical kingdom though such as magical beings, monsters & political intrigue

The writing is very accessible but managed to have the scope of adult fantasy so it makes for an easy engrossing read, I loved this world and I am very eager to find out what’s going to happen next!
