This book is about Dolly and Preston's backstory. And we also get a glimpse of Devlin's backstory, which is cool. Tho, I wouldn't have read this book if I wasn't a fan of the Faulkner universe.
But, my god, what a horrible place Faulkner is. And what horrible people the Darlings are. No wonder Preston is the way he is. Nature vs nuture and all that.
And all the misogyny and sexism going on in this book.... I am appalled, and to think some women live like this in 2023... absolutly breaks my heart 💔
