Im ngl i got series fatigue like half way through this. I liked...the writing and the overall story I think.
However Mal and Riley were kinda a random pairing to me, and it just got boring after while. Riley basically has no characteristics except being compared to her sister (Sloane from book 2) the ENTIRE time. I don't have siblings but personally, that would irritate me even as a person LOL. Like i legit can't tell you anything about Riley except the fact that she was Sloanes younger sister. There are like a few plot points that hint at their sisterly bond being a struggle, but it never goes any deeper into why besides Riley just sounding mad that her sister had more personality.
Mal was pretty flat for me also, and kept appearing in...womens...restrooms....ehhhhhhhhhhhhh. This book rode such a thin line between just being stockholm syndrome and being a mafia romance book so eh. Mals backstory was mid also, and my mans really folded at the first sight of Riley on getting 'vengance' from his brother. He must have not mattered that much LMAOOOO let me stoppppp but ???? He folded entirely too quick for it to be believable.
Overall. Meh. I think im out of my mafia moment for a lil and im not sure if ill read book 4 yet.
