I was really happy to discover this was a duology. It felt like the perfect length for the series. A lot happens, but it doesn't feel too rushed to me. I enjoyed Anouk's journey (though I still don't really think I buy the relationship between her and Beau) and learning more about magic. I kind of wish there had been a bit more about the world, but there was basically enough to get what was going on. I'm still a bit confused about the Haute, though. An enjoyable and different magical world.
