It reads like a poorly edited extended first chapter or two of a book rather than a book of its own. It's clear this series is not going to satisfy unless you read multiple books to string together big plot moments.

Not sure if I'll read many more in the series - it has 14 out at this point, with 20 planned according to the author's GoodReads' page. Given that one is released each year... it feels like an investment to pick the series up.
