3.0

I have heard many good things about Meghan Quinn’s books and I really wanted to like this book but it’s gonna be a no from me. I’m giving it 3 stars (generously) because there are aspects I really liked about this book, the banter between the boys and group chat texts had me laughing more than once but overall the story just didn’t do it for me.

I feel like the first half and second half of the story is written completely different and with different main characters. I mean the MMC Halsey has such a 180 degree turn in personality that I almost got whiplash.  I wouldn’t even call it character development at this point. You cannot convince me a character can change that much in so little time. Not to mention the FMC Blakely mentions her ex at least once per chapter. There is only so much I can handle of that.

There was a ton of spice and it was very SPICY and if you take it out of the story it’s probably one of the only things that was good. I’m sure if you have read past books by Megan Quinn and liked them you will also enjoy this one, but for me it was just okay.

I know Megan Quinn has written a lot of books so I am open to reading another one in the future but for now the quota has been filled.
