OH MY GOSH THESE TWO!!! Their differing personalities and trauma work great together - well, great as in it gives them realistic things to work on so they can become better people for themselves and each other. The mental health, self-esteem, and self-depreciation are represented phenomenally well! I found myself connecting to both Luc and Oliver with their views of themselves and their pasts.

I wasn’t sure up until the ‘end’ how I felt about Luc’s dad, but Luc handled it probably how I would have. Ugh, I wanted to hug him (and slap him) so many times because of what his dad did! Luckily, Oliver was there to just be himself and it made me want to cry happy tears. OLIVER, YOU SWEETHEART!

The balance with good and negative qualities of the characters overall was just YES! I’m a fan of seeing the gritty, hard to swallow parts of people so I can see how they handle things and (hopefully) grow from them. Plus, having an array of crazy, supportive, and sometimes odd friends on both fronts was refreshing from the heavier elements.

Luc and Oliver are a delightfully chaotic couple I enjoyed rooting for! And the sarcasm HIT ALL THE RIGHT NOTES! I love scarcasm (in real life and books) as well as playful banter, which Boyfriend Material once again handled beautifully!

I’m happy to report that another popular book people have told me to read has lived up to - dare I say exceeded - my expectations and I’m as head over heels for Luc and Oliver and they for each other! Can’t wait to read Husband Material!
