North Woods by Daniel Mason
3.0
Love this premise: following a property through hundreds of years of change in creepy Massachusetts New England. The story comes complete with 1700's ghosts who are attached to the land. I was really drawn in by some of the stories: Alice and Mary Osgood, the nature lover at the end but some of the stories had me less invested. I found this difficult to read a lot of in one go, maybe 5-10% at a time. The pacing varied between character and plot driven and more strong prose, poetry and atmospheric context setting. I'm struggling to rate this one because I did like the approach but I don't see this being a story that will stick in my mind for years to come. Solid 3.
