Slashers are not my thing. I hate Michael Myers, and won't even watch Freddie or Jason. To me, being stalked by a supernatural creature out for revenge simply isn't fun viewing. But Jade Daniels, star of Stephen Graham Jones' 'My Heart is a Chainsaw,' LOVES slashers. And somehow, against all odds, she made me curious. Excited, even. This book is bizarre and dense and frankly difficult to understand at times. It can be a slog and it can also sprint at breakneck speeds. Am I sure that I understood it? No. But did I enjoy every bloody moment? Pretty much.
