The Way I Used to Be by Amber Smith
4.0
"All these maybes swimming around in my head make me think that 'maybe' could just be another word for hope."
Gosh this book. So personal, so painful and heartbreaking. The author truly did not hold back with detailing and showing how it truly can be like to go through a situation like this. I'm so torn between giving 4 or 5 stars. I think what's holding me back is the fact that the main character made me so angry with her stubbornness and how she really hurts those that so deeply love her. But maybe that's because the author truly does capture what an experience like this really does and how it really changes a person. Definitely adding this to one of my favs.
