This was my first book by Swati M H. The first two chapters of the book are hilarious and I was worried that the book would lose steam, but the banter in this book is top notch. Dev is from a very wealthy family and he is trying hard to live up to his father’s expectations and it’s hard. His mother is gravely ill with a prognosis of less than a year. So Dev is willing to do anything to make his mother happy for her last few months on earth. Piper owns a hair salon for men that Dev visited and unfortunately Piper wasn’t on her game that day and there was an unfortunate incident. So to make amends to Dev he is requesting that Piper become his fake fiancé and fake wife to make his mother happy. I loved this book and this story so much and I could relate to it from my own personal experiences. Dev was such a wonderful guy, compassionate and tender. I just fell in love with him just like Piper did. Now Piper is totally against relationships and commitments due to her early relationships with men and her father. Piper and Dev had so much in common. This book will make you laugh, cry, feel sad and bring you joy. What a remarkable book that Swati M H has produced, I loved it.
