Essential reading if you want to understand the overall plot of the Heresy. You found out how things were orchestrated and it answered A LOT of questions I had in regards to how it all went down (why particular legions were sent to Istvaan 5, how the warrior lodges became imbedded in the legions, and the amount of time it took to percolate).

Asides from important plot related content it was just a damn good book, Lorgar is such an interesting character, and is clearly just beloved by the powers because he is such an easily manipulated pawn.

Our main cast is really layered with a lot of complexities and following their downfall/ascension is REALLY compelling. Great action setpieces as well with some really cool Alien robot designs that felt really unique.

Overall a must read if you are going through the Horus Heresy.
