Catherine Newman really knows how to write a relatable female character and this book did not disappoint. Rocky’s menopause was picture perfect - anxiety ridden big feelings amongst a seemingly perfect family that is really just divesting all its emotional labour to her then wondering why she’s struggling. A heartbreaking yet funny and warm depiction of family and the absolute all-consuming love we have for people, especially our children.
