Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver

4.0

3.5 stars. Would probably have been a solid four stars (if not 4.5) for me, but the multiple chapters in a row of very graphic sex and little plot momentum stopped the story for too long for me. (I realize for many, this is a feature and not a bug.) Overall, I enjoyed the characters’ dynamic and the twisted plot. Sloane scaring a serial murderer to death with the corpse of his mother should not have been as hilarious to me as it was, which probably doesn't speak well about my psyche. The audiobook production is *excellent.*
