Dance, Sugarplum by Aurelia Knight, Amy Oliveira

3.0

This dark holiday novella follows the story of a fallen prima ballerina, shunned by the powerful elite after scandalous rumors tarnish her reputation. However, Mikhail Ivanov has always had his eye on her, and now, nothing stands in his way.
I’m torn on how to rate this one. While I wanted it to be longer, it’s mainly because I’m left with unanswered questions. What exactly made his relationship with Molly “complicated”? Was the subplot about his jaw injury truly necessary? I need answers!
The spice was intense—dark, but satisfying. It's not the kind of dark that feels absurd or out of place, but more like "ehh, this is definitely dubcon territory." The story moved quickly, with some unexpected suspense, but by the end, I felt more perplexed than entertained.
