While the artwork is fantastic, I found the overall story a little underwhelming, lacking much of the wit from the first two volumes. It’s unfortunately all hindered by a dense layer of references, often leaving me unsure if it’s something I should know or it’s merely an Easter egg for the (much more so) well-read. I’d argue that this is more for completionists of the series than a must-read like the original miniseries.
