Moon River by J.R. Rain
4.0
This was a quick fun read for me. At 200 pages I kept turning and turning (I know! I read a paperback!) until before I knew it, I was done 2 hours later.
Samantha is a vampire PI. She is been brought in by Sherbert for Sanchez to solve these gruesome throat ripped out kind of murders.
I really liked it. This one is a stand alone in the series (Think Sookie Stackhouse with multiple books in the same series, but you don’t HAVE to read all of them to read one, though after the first book, you usually want to.), but looking through the reviews, I want to read the first 7. I want to get to know Samantha, Allison, and Kingsley more. I want to see the women as they start this journey and as they go on to become who they are right now. I want to see Samantha forgive Kingsley for what he did in a previous book (I got the gist, that it was a set up to catch Kingsley with another woman, I need to read that one now.). They feel like they would be awesome together.
This might be the wrong thing to say about a book that has some really gory stuff in it, but it was a fun read. It was the perfect way to laze away the morning yesterday, reading a book that I knew I had time to finish so that I wouldn’t be hanging there saying I have to get back to my book, I must know what happens next.
Final analysis I enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading the beginning of the series and seeing what is coming next for J.R. Rain and Samantha Moon.
