A Knights Bridge Christmas by Carla Neggers
3.0
This book was . . . okay. Definitely better and more festive than 'Take Me Home for Christmas' (another Christmas novel I rated on my Goodreads last year).
Overall, the story line was sweet and charming, and the the characters were likable. However, some of the wordings of the passages and dialogue and how ideas connected to one another were a little unclear, at least for me, and it seemed to always be slowly building up to, but never quite reaching the satisfying romantic climax I was expecting, which was a bit of a disappointment. There were some more sweet moments and a little more romance towards the end, but it almost felt rushed, and, while sweet, it was still slightly unsatisfying. Parts of it were cheesy, but that's not a complaint from me: I expect that in romantic Christmas novels, and I occasionally enjoy a bit of cheesiness.
Overall, a sweet, gentle, and slow-moving Christmas read, but perhaps falling a little short of the curve if you're looking for a good romance-focused holiday book.
