Laurel and Lennon’s family had been business rivals for years. When Lennon’s father passed he gave Lennon control of the company but, only if he married Laurel. Now Laurel and Lennon had a history, they had been intimate many years ago.  I loved this story and I especially loved Lennon. Not only was he an alpha male and very possessive he was also a little tortured and emotional. I love a man that can have a range of emotions. He considered himself a black hearted person. I thought he was a big soft gooey marshmallow especially toward Laurel.
The romance between these two was very sweet. The were both enamored but unwilling to be open about it. There was some angst in this book (not nearly enough for me) but it was appropriate for this book. This is the second book on the Harding brothers. I didn’t read the first and I intend to because Jude seems like a very interesting character. Please check your trigger warning because there are some things that are mentioned that may be sensitive for some people. Although I won’t mention what the issue is, I think it was great that it was some thing both characters had in common and wish the author had explored how they could have helped each other. A very enjoyable book.
