The first half or so of this book kind of dragged and I found myself wondering if the rest of the series would feel the same. Once I got past the half way point, the plot really started picking up. I really do like how the author has depicted the abusive relationship realistically, and I loved seeing Auren come into her own a bit more. I’m excited to see more of her in the next book.

I have heard that the next few books tend to be a bit filler-y, so I will likely read the next book (Gleam) and then maybe not read the rest, to save myself the wait.
