The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

4.0

I read the whole book without crying, even once, but when I read the last paragraph I started crying out loud. I had never experienced something like this.
"IN THE DARKNESS, two shadows, reaching through the hopeless, heavy dusk.
Their hands meet, and light spills in a flood like a hundred golden urns pouring out of the sun."
I like to imagine every single detail of it true, I like to imagine Thetis sitting on the top of the hill just next to the Troy's remains, staring at the grave which was there, but not anymore, suffering her immortality, suffering her choice. And be sad for the rest of my life.
