Heartbreak Is the National Anthem: How Taylor Swift Reinvented Pop Music by Rob Sheffield

4.0

as a life long swiftie, i learned not a single new thing from this book. i feel like the people who would get the most out of this are music nerds (swifties or otherwise) or like moms/partners/friends of swifties who try their best to be appreciative but don’t really know where to start.
anyways a very enjoyable read talking abt the spectrum of taylor’s career and how she’s influenced the music industry as a whole. while sometimes it felt a bit cheesy, i liked the fairly constant inclusion of taylor’s lyrics. so again, while i didn’t learn anything new, it was still fun and worth my read!! loved revisiting old iconic taylor moments!!

thanks mom for this as a christmas present love you
