I only found this book because I met author Tracy Moore at a book fair in St Paul. I will do what I can to share this book with as many readers as will listen.
I know from talking with Moore that everything in this book happened to one of the many women firefighters she interviewed. While learning much about firefighting in general via the book, I also learned of the extra challenges faced by women and other marginalized groups within the department. I’m thankful for their courage to keep showing up.
This book is also extremely well written, and I hope Moore writes additional books with or without firefighter characters.
