I never really believed in rereading your favorite books because I fear that one day, the magic I felt from them years ago will fail me this time. But The Emperor's Soul was an exception. I mourned for the growing gap between me, and books this year. Rereading this gem, transported me to a world that gave me comfort, artistry, and awe again.

This novella will never fail to make me cry, and they were right! You have to reread the books that made such an impact on you to see how you've grown. Turns out, rereading can also help you be in touch with the past that you've forgotten to nurture. How fitting that The Emperor's Soul delved in unearthing personal histories with the purpose of recreating the past, and making it to something more authentic. The art of forgery and soul stamps might not be real, but it resonated so much for me, in this specific time in my life.

I love this so much! I think after so many years, past Divine would agree that this novella deserve all the stars in the world. Brandon Sanderson, you're an amazing human being! I'll be forever indebted to your stories.

Well, well, well. A year after reading my first book by Brandon Sanderson and I can still definitely say that HE IS STILL MY FAVE. My previous rating still stays true and I also cried by the end of this book just like my previous read. Thank you Brandon, for bringing life to these masterpieces uwuuu.

This is my first Sanderson book and ohohohoho dear I'm very much grateful for reading this. NOW MY NEXT MISSION WOULD BE TO READ ALL OF HIS NOVELS.

This book was amazing. So freaktastically on point. [b:The Emperor's Soul|13578175|The Emperor's Soul|Brandon Sanderson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1343059311l/13578175._SY75_.jpg|19161502] may be a mere 175-paged book but had surpassed all other works of fiction past that page number. The world building was inspired by the author's trip to Taiwan and I couldn't have picked a more appropriate book than this one. Our architecture educational trip last April was on Taiwan as well and I'm quite familiar with the references of "stamps" and culture reflected in here. For once, I've found myself in awe with another smart-ass MC and I'm grateful for Shai and her monologues. This is a genuine work of art that I would throw to anyone's face asking for recommendations.

Overall, an awesome read for me and had nudged me away from another book slump, DOUBLE YAY. This would have been a 5-star had it been longer, though it's short narrative fits the plot so well, I just want to read more of Shai and ofc the Emperor! *sighs*
