I was loving Yes & I Love You so much as I was reading it, I HAD to get my hands on the second in the series, What If You & Me, in my hands before I even finished. Wow wow wow. I am officially a BIG fan of Roni Loren.

Hollyn Tate prefers anonymity in real life, thanks to her anxiety stemming from her Tourette’s, but she’s NOLA Vibe’s famous social scene writer Miz Poppy online. Jasper Deares is an improv wunderkind with a whole lot of ambition but not a whole lot of faith in himself. Hollyn meets Jasper at work, and the two pair up for mutually beneficial work reasons: Jasper can help Hollyn become more comfortable in social situations through improv, and Hollyn can review Hail Yes improv group as Miz Poppy. Oh, and then they decide to become friends-with-benefits, too.

I loved Hollyn. I loved Jasper. I loved them together. Roni Loren wrote about Hollyn and her experience with Tourette’s so it was brutally honest without pandering. Hollyn’s life was and is defined by her Tourette’s but it isn’t Hollyn’s entirety. Hollyn is a fantastic friend, and I’m excited to learn more about Andi in this next book! I can’t believe I’m going to admit that even Cal grew on me, although he really pissed me off for a couple chapters!

Hollyn and Jasper are both self-aware and work to improve themselves FOR themselves. It just helps that they have each other along the way, too. I especially enjoyed that this book did NOT have a miscommunication trope— so refreshing!

Ummm the video recording room scene btw? This book is HOT.

Read this book. Excuse me now while I go start What If You & Me.
